2015-06-27 00:50:52

Eriez President and CEO Tim Shuttleworth announced the following appointments: Lukas Guenthardt as Executive Vice President of Global Strategy & Development, Mike Mankosa to Executive Vice President-Global Technology and Tim Gland to Director-Erie Operations. Guenthardt recently joined Eriez in anticipation of Andy Lewis' retirement from the role of Vice President- International on April 10, 2015, according to Shuttleworth. Lewis will continue on as Chairman of the Board for Eriez-Europe. Mankosa was previously Eriez' Vice President of Operations, a role he has held since 2004. Gland joined Eriez a year ago as Facilities Director.

"Lukas has many years of business management experience with large and respected industrial companies," said Shuttleworth. "We are pleased that he will now apply his global skills and expertise to help Eriez maintain and expand its worldwide leadership position across the diverse industries we serve."

As Executive Vice President of Global Strategy & Development, Guenthardt's responsibilities will include developing and implementing business operations systems that strengthen Eriez' drive toward a more integrated global company, with an emphasis on accelerating the company's business development initiatives in new and existing markets.

Shuttleworth explains, "Lukas' transition into this role has involved working in parallel with Andy Lewis in the business supervision of international magnetic subsidiaries. He has also assisted Mike Mankosa with the management of the flotation business."

Effective in March, Guenthardt assumed full responsibility for the business operations of all Eriez' foreign magnetic and flotation businesses, which now report directly to him. In his new role, Guenthardt will work in close partnership with Mike Mankosa in the performance of his responsibilities and will report directly to Shuttleworth.

In his new position, Mankosa will focus his efforts on leveraging Eriez' technology to advance both domestic and international operations while exploring global opportunities for product and market innovation. He will oversee the technology interests of all Eriez products as well as future technology acquisitions.

As Executive Vice President-Global Technology, Mankosa's responsibilities will include guiding Eriez' product technology focus, leading the collaboration of Eriez' technical expertise across global enterprises and directing the development of technology solutions to enhance Eriez' strategic goals worldwide. He will report directly to Shuttleworth.

Mankosa joined Eriez in 1997, beginning his career as the company's Technical Director in the Erie-Division Research and Development Lab. Over the years, he continued accruing additional managerial responsibilities. Soon after being named Vice President of Operations in 2004, he became the executive sponsor and global leader for Eriez' newly acquired flotation business.

Mankosa earned his doctorate in mining and minerals engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech). Throughout his career, he has published nearly 100 articles in prominent scientific and technical journals, obtained numerous equipment and process patents and received more than $2 million in research funding from a number of state and federal agencies.

Before his employment at Eriez, Gland worked for Lord Corporation as Director-Chemical and Mechanical Operations. In that role, he was responsible for multiple manufacturing facilities in North America.

In his new position as Eriez' Director- Erie Operations, Gland will be responsible for all manufacturing operations at the company's Erie, PA, headquarters and Asbury Road plants. His duties will include overseeing the facilities' production control, purchasing, subcontract, shipping and stores operations. Additionally, the quality assurance department will report to him. Gland will report directly to Shuttleworth.

Gland graduated from Purdue University. He went on to obtain a master's degree in business administration from The Pennsylvania State University (Penn State).
