Okuma’s MB-5000HII is a highspeed, thermally-stable, horizontal machining center (HMC) that offers quick acceleration and short tool changes in a compact footprint. “Powerful cutting capabilities and high-speed automation increase productivity and reduce cycle time,” said an Okuma spokesperson. The MB-5000HII can be outfitted with either a 15K or a 20K RPM spindle.
Okuma’s new tower APC is a twolevel pallet system available in multiple pallet configurations. The pallets are now interchangeable between horizontal and vertical machining centers (VMCs), offering enhanced process flexibility. “A 48 disc-type ATC is standard and significantly reduces tool change times compared to other models. The new ATC servo shutter design shortens tool change times while reducing waiting motions,” said the spokesperson.
Built using Okuma’s Thermo- Friendly design principles, this machine compensates for thermal deformation to offer consistent machining accuracy. The MB- 5000HII is part of Okuma’s Affordable Excellence collection of machines.
