These new robots extend the Mit-subishi Electric RV-F Series product line to address applications that require higher payloads and longer reaches, in-cluding CNC machine tending, large material handling and as-sembly applications. The new RV-35F, RV-50F and RV-70F ro-bots are suited to the automotive and electronic manufacturing in-dustries. Key benefits of the RV-35F, RV-50F and RV-70F robots include: • Higher payloads—allows appli-cations that require heavier parts and tooling to be robotically au-tomated • Long reach arm— tasks can be spread farther apart and can accommodate larger parts and processes with the ability to extend up to 2,050 mm • Seamless integra-tion with the Mitsubishi Electric Factory Automa-tion (MELFA) hardware ecosystem—easily con-nects to MELFA’s extensive offering of integrated au-tomation products • Multiple environmen-tal protection ratings— available in IP40 and IP67 protection rat-ings to conform to various application requirements. “Commanded by the MELFA Basic V programming language and Cont. on Page 18 GF Machining Solutions Acquires Micro-Machining Specialist GF Machining Solutions has an-nounced an agreement to purchase 100 percent of the shares of Microlution Inc, a Chicago-based developer of micro-ma-chining products incorporating milling and laser technologies. “The acquisition of Microlution is in line with GF Machining Solutions’ strat-egy to enlarge its technology portfolio to fully meet the needs of manufactur-ers in targeted industry segments, in-cluding aerospace and medical,” said a company spokesperson.
