Advance Welding, a specialty welding and metal fabrication company that works with customers in the aerospace and defense, automotive, energy, medical, semiconductor and other engineering sectors, is celebrating its 45th year in business.
The recent acquisition of KTI, Inc. of East Windsor, CT, has expanded Advance Welding’s Nadcap- and FAA-certified laser and electron beam welding capabilities for aerospace and defense and power generation applications. Additionally, the awarding of a Massachusetts Manufacturing Accelerate Program grant of $250,000 and partnering with the Western MA Economic Development Council has allowed the Advance Welding to purchase electron beam welding and laser beam weld chambers, power sources, pumps and support equipment. The funding will make the company one of the leading U.S. providers of fusion welding services, the company reported.

Advance Welding is also involved in giving back to the community. Those activities include mentoring relationships with the University of Hartford, Western New England University and several technical schools in the area to help students apply their classroom experiences to the real world and supporting the Springfield-Boston Education Foundation’s annual Wilbraham Hill Climb race.
As for what the future holds, Kielb is optimistic: “As specifications for welding, brazing and precision manufacturing become more demanding, our investments in people and technology will enable us to strengthen our partnerships with established customers, as well as form new relationships.”
