Milltronics USA, Inc. has added a new series of vertical machining centers to its VM line. The new lineup features the VM2515, VM3018, VM4020 and VM5020 models.
The new VM models have X travels ranging from 25 to 50 in., Y-axis travels ranging from 15 to 20 in. And Z-axis travels of 20 in. The reinvented VM line includes many stan d a rd features such as 20 pocket double arm ATC, BIG-PLUS ISO No. 40 spindle taper and 10,000 RPM. The VM2515 features 15/10 HP while the VM3018, VM4020 and VM5020 models include AC spindle motor power of 20/15 HP.
The VM Series of machines feature double-nut pre-loaded ball screws, anchored at both ends as well as linear motion guides. The double-nut ball screws apply pressure in opposite directions to the ball screw, which keeps the nut under tension and prevents backlash. The linear motion guides provide rigidity during heavy cutting with low friction characteristics. Milltronics castings are machined with slot and shoulder for rail. The rail is then wedged with fasteners to ensure straightness and rigidity.
The VM line is powered by the 9000 CNC Milltronics control which is Milltronics' newest and upgraded control offered. It features an Intel Dual Core i5 processsor, 120 GB disk storage, 4 GB memory, an increased block processing rate of up to 3,000 blocks per second, mid-travel tactile keys and an enlarged 15" LCD touchscreen. It is a Windows-based platform and offers user-friendly features and more.
“We want to show customers how we are evolving and innovating to help them meet their machining challenges," said Joe Braun, Vice President Marketing and Product Management. “The new VM Series of machines are designed for a variety of applications and the new touchscreen 9000 Series CNC allows operators to be more flexible, efficient and productive while machining at higher speeds and tighter tolerances."
Milltronics plans to introduce six more VM models that will feature BIGPLUS inline spindles and 50 taper spindles.
