“Using plugs or adjusting spiders to form top jaws can be difficult and frustrating methods. Huron has introduced its Top Jaw Forming Device to provide improvements in accuracy and productivity,” said a company spokesperson.
The Top Jaw Forming Device attaches quickly with no tools. It can be used to set up a wide range of I.D. or O.D. workholding, and its selfcentering action provides equal pressure on all jaws. Most importantly, the Huron Forming Device compensates for jaw lift, even in worn chucks, resulting in better T.I.R. of parts, the company reported.
Top Jaw Forming Devices are available in two sizes: to fit 6” chucks and 8” to 13” chucks. The Huron Forming Device is built to last with heavy-duty construction, and scroll and jaws machined from 4140 steel. No castings or stampings of this product are used in the manufacturing.
