Drake Manufacturing Services Co., a Warren, OH, precision machine tool builder, recently hired Lauren Chandler as Inside Sales and Contract Administrator and Olguta Marinescu as a Product Development Engineer. Chandler is responsible for reviewing and processing new machine inquiries, managing sales contracts and working with Drake's sales, engineering and production teams to ensure customer satisfaction. Chandler's experience includes a three-year teaching assignment in Kyotanabe, Japan, and an operations administrator internship with Altek Europe Ltd. "Her experience abroad complements Drake's global exposure in the machine tool industry," said a company spokesperson. An MBA graduate of the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH, Chandler has a B.A. in East Asian Studies from Wittenberg University in Springfield, OH, and is certified as a Six Sigma Green Belt. Marinescu has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from University "Dunarea de Jos", Galati, Romania, and a M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan. Olguta was the recipient of a Socrates-Erasmus Scholarship at the University of Coimbra in Portugal. Her academic focus was in the area of vibration and acoustics. Marinescu authored six papers relevant to these subjects, the most significant relating to the development of a novel methodology to collect accurate and precise vibration measurements at high frequencies where the wavelength of the component mode shapes is small.
