Gleason Corporation will host the Gear Solutions Forum (GSF) at its worldwide headquarters in Rochester, NY, on Sept. 23-24. The company’s 150th anniversary will be recognized during the two-day forum.
“The GSF is a unique educational opportunity that gives visitors an in-depth look at many of the advanced new technologies that will shape the future of gear manufacturing,” said a company spokesperson. “The event will include more than 40 demonstrations of products and technologies covering all major gear production processes addressing a variety of industry needs. International industry experts will present their research in a wide range of gear-related subjects relevant to gear design and manufacturing.”
Demonstrations and presentations will cover bevel gear technologies for spiral and straight bevel gears, including grind from solid and Smart Lap corrective lapping. For cylindrical gears, live exhibits will include high-speed hobbing, power skiving, grinding and processing of large gears both on dedicated gearmachines and 5-axis machining centers. There will also be a series of inspection and measurement technologies for all types of gears and sizes including single flank roll testing, analytical gear inspection and surface roughness measurement. In addition, there will be a focus on the heat treatment of gears, quick-change work holding solutions and a look at the future digital factory for gear production.
The event will also feature a variety of partner s and technology providers to the gear industry covering areas such as software, coatings, heat treatment and machining solutions.
