HELLER Machine Tools Partners with Ellison Technologies

2019-10-23 02:39:13

“Heller Machine Tools is changing its business model in the North American market,” said a company spokesperson. “For the first time ever, Heller has moved to both direct and distribution sales and service—providing our customers with a more local interface that can provide sales, engineering and customer support via our new distribution network and still maintain our existing direct Key Account business.”

Heller Machine Tools L.P. has announced a new distribution partnership with Ellison’s Advanced Technologies Business Unit in the U.S. with specific representation in Alabama, Delaware, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Mississippi, Nebraska, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.

The Ellison Company was founded by James O. Ellison in 1955. The company was based in Southern California to distribute machines tools and provide after sales service. In 1965 W.J Ellison (Jim) joined his father’s company and started to grow and expand the family business, representing several machine tool builders and expanding coverage into other U.S. states.

Over the following years, Ellison developed a full solution-based business including applications and process engineering capability. “This added value for its customers by supplying machine tools and also demonstrating the most efficient methods of producing components including full turn-key solutions,” said the spokesperson.

In 2004, Ellison started to expand further into new U.S. locations, which involved the purchase of an automation company and other machine tool distribution companies. In 2006, the official company name was changed to Ellison Technologies to reflect more accurately the company’s capabilities.

“After continued expansion and organic growth, in 2012 Ellison reached half–billion in sales and became one of the most successful machine tool suppliers in the USA,” said a company spokesperson. In 2015 the company celebrated its 60th year anniversary.

Today Ellison Technologies is part of Mitsui & Co., Ltd. of Japan, which has allowed the company to increase its business footprint as a provider of advanced machining solutions to the North American metalcutting manufacturers and their global affiliates.

“Ellison Technologies’ priority is to introduce technologies that can strengthen the customer’s ability to compete in the markets they serve. Whether the solution involves a single stand-alone machine, multi-process equipment or a fully integrated manufacturing system with automation, the goal remains the same: to optimize production throughput and component quality at the lowest per-part manufacturing cost,” said the spokesperson.

“Ellison Technologies can provide our customer base with a high level of engineering and sales support. They provide excellent geographical coverage with their network of offices and technical centers. This all means a better, more focused customer support experience for both existing and new customers,” stated Steve Pegram, Director, Heller Machine Tools.

“With our new distribution partnerships now in place, Heller will be introduced to new markets and business sectors, offering high quality performance machine tools. In addition to our newest partner Ellison Technologies, our current distribution partners include Ellison Machinery, Maruka and Compumachine, offering complete coverage in North America,” concluded the spokesperson.
