ONA Electroerosion, S.A., manufacturer of sinker and wire EDM machines and headquartered in Durango, Spain, has acquired 30% of AAEDM in the U.S. With the acquisition of AAEDM, ONA adds microhole EDM technology to such diverse sectors as power generation, aerospace, automotive and medical, where it has a significant presence.
Founded in 2009 and based in Ann Arbor, MI, AAEDM designs and manufactures EDM machines for high-precision microhole machining. AAEDM’s workforce of 15, most with more than 20 years experience, focuses on the North American market.
“ONA’s acquisition complements its growth strategy, opening the door to new business opportunities worldwide with the involvement of both new and existing customers,” said a company spokesperson. “With this collaboration, ONA, its subsidiaries and distributors and AAEDM will be introduced to new markets.”
ONA has five subsidiaries in Europe, America and Asia, each with a large network of distributors. ONA EDM USA, Inc. is the U.S. subsidiary of ONA Electroerosion. It is responsible for sales, service and technical support for all of North America.
