Supertec Machinery has introduced the HSM-40 and HSM-60 High Speed Graphite Machining Centers. The HSM-40 and HSM-60 utilize a PC based, touch screen control with a Windows based menu. The controls software is user friendly, in a conversational language format that comes complete with 3D color graphics. According to the company, the addition of special matrix intelligence software allows the machine to create multi holes in any form. The heavy-duty double column design provides rigidity and stability while minimizing vibration during high speed machining. The machines are designed with class C1 ballscrews, linear roller guideways and a direct drive motor to minimize backlash and drag, enabling faster rapids and increased machining times. An HSK tool holder is standard on both models. Optional items include a graphite dust vacuumsystem, tool length measuring system and laser control.
