See Page 12 See Online DIGITAL EDITIONS at www.mfgnewsweb.com Manufacturing Aircraft Engine Components with ECM / PECM Technology According to a recent survey by Boeing, the number of aircraft deployed worldwide will double within the next 20 years. This will, of course, lead to an enormous in-crease in the number of aircraft en-gines required. It is not only the increasing demand for engines that pose new challenges to engine manufacturers, but also ever tight-ening environmental standards. Three criteria characterize the demands on aircraft engine pro-duction, according to EMAG. Amidst increasing cost pressures and fierce competition, the market calls for engines with significantly improved fuel efficiency. Environ-mental regulations toughen de-mands for emission reductions. Additionally, there is a need to re-duce purchase and maintenance costs of new aircraft engines. Fuel consumption and emis-sion levels go hand-in-hand and are, to a large extent, determined Continued on Page 86 IMTS 2014 Conference Registration Open, Conference Speakers Set Registration is open for the IMTS -The International Manufacturing Tech-nology Show 2014 Conference, which will run four days during IMTS, Sep-tember 8-11.
