Expand Machinery’s products, notably the GENMILL 4024 CNC machining center, has been helping Arrow McLaren deliver precision parts and prototypes that contribute to building the fastest race cars possible. But providing the machinery is just part of the equation.

How does Arrow McLaren use the CNC Machine? What are its capabilities? What if one of the Arrow McLaren machinists, like Jacob Hartwell, needs to troubleshoot a problem? That is where Expand’s top-of-the-line service comes into play.

“The service from Expand is unmatched,” said Hartwell. “I can call Ken Ruyle, Senior Applications Engineer, day or night, and he will pick up the phone. I can call our technician for any mechanical issues we are having. There is no wait time. If we have an issue, Expand is there to work with us immediately.”

It goes even beyond troubleshooting by providing solutions that were not previously considered. The Expand CNC machine at the Arrow McLaren shop offers a wide range of capabilities and functions, and the Expand technicians are always eager to offer guidance on how to operate the CNC machine at its full capacity.

“These machines have to perform to meet our demand,” said Hartwell. “While there are variables that sometimes get in the way of that, Expand is always a reliable teammate. They are here when we need them, and we would not be able to keep up with our workload without their commitment and service they provide.”

Hartwell has built strong personal relationships with the people at Expand, and he emphasized that they are routinely available to help at a moment’s notice. It is the relationship, not just the machinery, that prompts such high praise.

“Expand is the best CNC builder I have personally worked with over the past 10 years,” said Hartwell. “Their service is truly exceptional, and their team is one of the best. I had never been able to call an engineer’s personal number early in the morning and have them pick up to help me with my questions. Without their help, we would not be able to operate the way we do. This kind of service is unheard of.”
