Universal Robots recently launched its new UR3 robot at Automate 2015. The new compact tabletop robot weighs only 24.3 lbs. But has a payload of 6.6 lbs., 360° rotation on all wrist joints and infinite rotation on the end joint. These features allow the UR3 to work side-by side with employees.
CTO and Co founder of Universal Robots, Esben Oestergaard, led the three-year development phase of the new addition to the UR robot family. “With the UR3, tabletop will not slip or loosen during equipment startup and shutdown,” said the spokesperson. “Phase adjustment can be made quickly on the machine with accuracy using ordinary hand tools. No system disassembly is needed to make the phasing change.”
The Phas-Lok is available in three sizes with bores ranging from 1/2” to 2-1/2”. They are also available in metric bore sizes and with a variety of split taper bushings.
