Southwest Venture Plastics (SVP), a custom thermoplastic injection molder with full ISO/IATF 16949 certifications, has announced its recent investment: the Zeiss Mass Accura Coordinated Measuring Machine (CMM). This strategic addition to SVP’s capabilities bolsters its ability to cater to customers requiring pinpoint accuracy for parts of various sizes and confirm the part’s conformance to specifications. With one of the largest scanning machines in El Paso, TX, SVP can now provide customers with large part requirements, a better CMM option compared to having to ship the part to another service provider located outside the area.

The Zeiss Mass Accura CMM is designed to meet the intricate needs of the plastics industry. This advanced measuring machine offers versatility, speed and state-of-the-art technology, making it suited for assessing complex shapes and contours. Notably, its highspeed scanning capabilities enable rapid data capture, especially for clients with multitool packages.

“What sets the Zeiss Mass Accura CMM apart is its integration with the latest Calypso software,” said a company spokesperson. Calypso is a versatile platform accommodating various measurement techniques, including touch-trigger probing and optical measurement. This integration streamlines the process by seamlessly importing CAD models, thereby reducing programming time and minimizing errors. Operators benefit from real-time visualization, allowing instant identification of any deviations from design specifications or quality issues.
