Molex Incorporated offers its Brad Micro-Change M12 Circular Hybrid Technology (CHT) Connector System with 6-pole (4+2) and 8-pole (4+4) connectors, both with two Cat5e twisted-pair data lines. The 8-pole version features four power lines capable of carrying up to 6.0 Amps. In the 6-pole format, two power lines carry up to 12.0 Amps. Combining power and data lines into one connector, the Brad Micro-Change CHT Connector System reduces cabling requirements. “Based on the Brad circular M12 threaded coupling design, the IP67- sealed Micro-Change M12 interface provides reliable connectivity in harsh industrial environments. It is suited for industrial process and automation control applications, HVAC control systems, telecoms infrastructure and base stations-any rugged application that can benefit from combining Cat5e Ethernet with power lines in a small build size,” explains Ted Szarkowski, Product Manager, Molex. The wrap-around metal shielding allows power and Cat5e signal to be combined in one connector without losing optimum signal integrity and performance. The two overlapping tubes channel the signal through the connector without affecting crosstalk and electromagnetic interference (EMI).
