Iscar Metals and CNC Systems partnered at Iscar’s recent Complete Machining Seminar that took place at Iscar’s U.S. headquarters in Arlington, TX. Iscar’s technical seminars are held monthly each year and focus on proper tool selection and process improvements to reduce cost per part.
Iscar’s in-depth seminar started with lathe principles, turning & threading, tool management (matrix), engineered solutions and small part machining. CNC Systems provided a DMC DL45 CNC lathe for the turning portion of the seminars. “We knew the DMC lathes could perform under the heaviest cuts, but seeing the Iscar tooling cutting dry at one-half inch per side was impressive to seminar attendees,” said a CNC Systems spokesperson. CNC Systems, a machine tool importer and a distributor since 1978, provides parts, service, training and machine demonstrations not only for DMC, but also for HONOR SEIKI (vertical turning lathes); VISION WIDE (double column 3-, 4- and 5- axis); AVEREX (horizontal machining centers); and FEELER (vertical machining centers, 5-axis trunnions and horizontal boring machines).
Additional session topics during the seminar included parting/grooving, hole-making and milling, and demonstrations were held throughout the two-day event.
Iscar Technical Seminars are conducted at the company’s U.S. headquarters in Arlington, TX, as well as at its new Technology Center in Charlotte, NC. The next Complete Machining Seminar is scheduled for November 11-12, 2019, in Arlington.
