At this year's IMTS Losma USA will feature its Icarus line of static filters.Used to capture mists from neat oils and emulsions, Icarus offers HEPA filtration efficiencies to 99.95% due to Losma's Green Biofilter, a long-lasting natural fiber filter medium, the company said. Three sizes are available, covering a capacity of 353 to 1,178 CFM (600 to 2,000 cubic meters per hour). Its modular design allows Icarus to be configured with a variety of pre- and post filtration stages, allowing it to adapt to heavy smoke, heavy mist applications. Electrostatic cells, HEPA 13 filters and activated carbon can all be added to ICARUS configurations. Icarus uses high-efficiency Class IE2motors to minimize operating costs while remaining easy to maintain with easy access to all filter stages. It also has a compact construction; with dimensions starting at 100 x 55 x 55 mm, Icarus is designed to be compact enough for side-by-side installation with even the smallest machine tools, the company said.
