PRAB, Inc., a manufacturer of industrial scrapmetal and fluid recycling equipment, is introducing a collaboration in industrial water recycling with partner Veolia Water at this year’s PMTS in Columbus, OH. “We are very excited to announce our new partnership with Veolia Water. Their worldrenown products and expertise addressing the complex water recycling needs of industrialmanufacturers is an ideal match for PRAB’s wastewater reclamation and fluid recycling equipment,” said Tim Hanna, Managing Director of PRAB’s Fluid Filtration division. “Engineered to address unique manufacturing and industry challenges, PRAB chip handling and fluid filtration systems can increase profits by effectively processing scrap, reclaiming expensive cutting oils and coolants, and recycling process water. Engineers will be on hand at PMTS in booth #803 to discuss the benefits of scrap metal handling, fluid filtration and recycling systems, as well as demonstrate the overall technology advances in these fields,” said a PRAB spokesperson. Featured equipment at the show will be the key components comprised in chip handling, wastewater recycling and fluid reclamation systems. Veolia’s R Series vacuum heat pump evaporator is designed to produce a concentrate with a high final concentration and a distillate with low conductivity. It is suited for use in waste disposal, graphic arts, chemical and galvanic applications, or where: • Waste water has a high initial content of dissolved or suspended solids, or is already pre concentrated. • Daily volumes are relatively small (150 l - 40 gal distillate/24 h). • Distillate has to be of the highest quality. • Concentrate has to be recycled. “PRAB’s line of ultrafiltration systems are designed to separate emulsified oils and suspended solids from wastewater and coolant and reduce oily water volumes by as much as 98% without the use of chemical additives. Manufacturers can benefit from the reduction in the cost of wash water detergents up to 75%, heating and disposal. System effluent water can be discharged to sewer or reused. In addition, PRAB’s ultrafiltration solutions help meet zero manifesting goals and comply with federal RCRA requirements, as well as state and local discharge regulations,” said a PRAB spokesperson. “PRAB’s line of paper bed and magnetic paper bed filters extend coolant and tool life, increase surface finish an average of 27% and control bacteria. Standard paper bed filtration units are available with flow rates up to 130 GPM with different classes of filter media allowing for adjustments of micron clarity. Filters are suitable for applications of low to medium stock removal of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, aswell as organic and inorganic contaminants such as glass, rubber and plastic. Drum-typemodels occupy onethird the floor space and can process up to 500 GPM of fluids,” said the spokesperson PRAB’s Vertical Axis Crusher reduces turnings and bulky wads of material into shovel-grade chips, reconditioning the metal for further processing and recycling. The solids ejector automatically discharges barends. • Reduces up to six times the amount ofmaterial, significantly decreasing required storage space • Produces material up to 4,000 lb./hr. (1 814 kg/hr.). The Oscillator vibratory conveyor is suited for transferring hot, dry orwet abrasive metal scrap or finished parts across horizontal distances. The oscillator provides a steady movement of material at roughly 12.5 feet (3.81 meters) per minute. Its durable, multi-ply fiberglass springs provide a smooth, quiet flow and discharge. It can be installed alongside presses or in a pit beneath the presses. PRAB’s Heavy-Duty Magnetic Conveyor can positively transfer wet or dry ferrous chips, stamping slugs, turnings or parts without carryover. Permanent ceramic magnets are located under the stainless steel slider bed which moves the material. Minimalmaintenance is required due to the oil reservoir in the base of the conveyor that self-lubricates the chain for a quiet performance. The Heavy Duty Magnetic Conveyor features a self-adjusting drive chain take-up and alloy steel bar tracks that precisely guide the chain and magnetic assemblies under heavier loads. Also available with rare earth magnets. For more information contact: Chris Gibbs Director of Marketing PRAB, Inc. 5944 E. N.
