Mettler Toledo has announced the availability of ICS425, 435, 445, 465 and 685, its newest entries in the ICS5 industrial scale family. These scales are built dust-, shock- and draft-proof, making them useful for the industrial environment. Mettler Toledo uses strain gauge or Monobloc technology based on a manufacturer’s needs to provide weighing precision. “Provenweighing technologies encased in shock- and dust-proof exteriors mean these scales can be moved and easily integrated at just about any point along a manufacturing production line for added flexibility - all while maintaining accuracy,” said Mettler Toledo Market Manager Simone Zimmermann. Designed for ease of use, durability and accuracy, ICS4_5 and ICS685 feature large, bright display screens and intuitive command menus. Prompts lead operators step-by-step through a procedure. User-management profiles allow language, rights and key configuration settings for flexibility in work style and quick employee changeover at shift’s end. Application levels can be tailored to simple weighing and counting or complex computations, such as totalizing, totalizing to target or over/under checkweighing and checkcounting. Easy-toggle bar graphs show inprocess results of activities, such as filling. Configurable softkeys - and even hands-free capabilities - allow users to program functions critical to a particular weighing process. These features help reduce operator workload in multi-step, labor-intensive processes. Further enhancing operator comfort, scale terminals and platforms can be set up in compact, standup or separate component configuration. A rechargeable battery pack and WLAN connectivity allows cable-free operation for enhanced flexibility. By adding colorWeight technology to screen readouts, operators know at a glance whether a weight or count is over, under or within the set target range for enhanced ergonomic benefit. ICS4_5 and ICS685 interface options easily integrate with existing IT systems, second scales and other devices, such as barcode/RFID scanners. Predefined and user-defined label templates in different formats and sizes offer an efficient documentation process as well. Embedded data storage with alibi and transaction memory allows smart export/import functionality by USB stick or Ethernet, completing the scales’ incorporation into the line and allowing easy analysis of weighing and counting results.
