Cubic’s BT30-taper tapping centers can nowbe optionally orderedwith 21- tool ATC and 15,000 RPM direct drive spindle. TR-510 comes with 12-tool armless ATC as standard, however the 21-tool ATC is a new option that not only provides greater tool capacity but also uses a servo drivemechanismsimilar to Brother or FANUC tapping centers to index the tool within 1.4 second (tool-to-tool). The 10,000 RPMspindle is the standard on TR-510, but responding to customers needing high speed machining Cubic Machinery now offers 15,000 RPM spindle as an option. The 15,000 RPM spindle can be used for high speed machining applications such as machining of aluminum parts in automotive, electronics or medical devices and the machining of die and molds with hard materials. The TR-series tapping center is capable of rigid tapping at up to 4,000 RPM. The high performance drilling and tapping center offers rapid traverses rated at 1,890 IPM for X- and Yaxis and 2,362 IPM for Z-axis. TR-510 can move with peak acceleration of 2. 2G on X, 1.9G on Y and 1.0G on Zaxis. The high-speed spindle on the TR- 510 offers the NBT specification for dual-surface contact. Using NBT dualcontact technology allows both spindle taper and the spindle flange to be in contact with the tool holder, increasing metal removal rate and improving part finishes. The TR-510 uses the latest FANUC 0i-MD control. A 4th axis rotary table can be added to the TR-510 depending on customer requirements. Nikken 5C indexer is another option that can be ordered with the machine. Featuring a small footprint, TR-510 is suited for applications such as PCB drilling, electronics and medical parts. Additional drill and tap machines in the TR-series include TR-600 and TR-700 with 600 mm (23.6”) and 700 mm (27.5”) X-axis travel respectively. The TR-510 ismade by TridentMachinery in Taiwan, and Cubic Machinery is the North American importer of Trident’s product line.
